Description:
Obverse: Dona Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez ("La Corregidora") (1768-1829, insurgent and supporter of the Mexican War of Independence, which fought for independence against Spain, in the early 19th century) at right. Coat of arms of Mexico (Spanish: Escudo Nacional de México, literally "national shield of Mexico") depicts a Mexican (golden) eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a rattlesnake. Reverse: Yucca plant at left. Arcos de Queretaro aqueduct, village of Queretaro and national arms.
