Obverse: Monument of Peter the Great (Peter I) erected 1911, The tall-ship Sedov (sailing ship and sail training vessel, originally named the Magdalene Vinnen II) , and The sea terminal in Arkhangel'sk | 
Reverse: Sailing boat outside the Solovetskiy Monastery on the Great Solovetskiy Island in Onega Bay of the White Sea, Solovetsky District, Arkhangelsk Oblast. As you can see, all the building, except from the golden dome, are missing their crosses. This indicates that the picture is painted some time between 1926 and 1938. During this time the site was know as Solotov Prison Camp and was used as a special prison and a gulag prototype (death camp) |
